Making the Rounds

  • Pinterest strikes deal with record labels that will let users add popular music to Idea Pins. For the uninitiated: Idea Pins are Pinterest’s attempt to knock off TikTok. They include a short video clip or carousel of still images. And now users can add music from artists like Ed Sheeran to their Idea Pins.
  • Netflix’s ad inventory is nearly sold out. In fact, they’ve reportedly been forced to turn away advertisers because they don’t have the capacity to serve them ahead of their November 3 launch date. After reversing two straight quarters of subscriber losses in Q3, things are looking up for streamer number one.
  • Microsoft joins the tech industry layoff party. The company announced layoffs of somewhere between 1 and 1,000 staff members across multiple divisions yesterday, as many Big Tech companies brace for an economic downturn.

Working With Clients

What Women Clients Really Want

Let’s say you’re a copywriter, media buyer, or funnel builder.

The “product” you sell is actually a service, right?

Wrong.

As a service provider, the “product” you sell is an OUTCOME.

  • Leads
  • Appointments
  • Product demos
  • Sales calls
  • Clients
  • Free trials
  • Purchases
  • Renewals
  • Etc

Clients aren’t looking for another line item to add to their expense report…

They’re looking for the fastest and most direct way to achieve a specific outcome.

And in marketing, that outcome usually means “buying” money at a discount (by paying you to produce a result that generates revenue for their business).

So the next time you’re pitching a new prospect…

Remember: clients don’t buy services, they buy results.

Working For Yourself

The #1 Productivity Rule of High-Performers

Staying productive can be a battle when you’re working from home.

But instead of looking for some fancy productivity system to keep you on task, here’s an old school solution to try:

Write all your to-dos down on paper.

Because if you’ve 479 mental tabs open at the same time, well, that’s gonna suck up all your juice and make it difficult to get things done.

But when you write everything down, you can free up your mind’s computing power to do more important things — like come up with creative solutions to pesky problems… or finding the perfect GIF or meme to get your point across 😉
